Hydraulic tubing end locator is initially in unexpanded form and is used to position the tubing end for depth calibration, which is mounted at the bottom of the tool string. The locator will be activated by increasing the flow of fluid inside the string, and the piston inside the tool makes the claw to expand.  Slowly pulling up the string, while maintaining the fluid flow rate in the string, makes the claw contact with the tubing end, which may show a significant change in the weight indicator.  When the upper lift force reaches its maximum design value, the claw retracts and the hydraulic tubing end locator exits smoothly. Repeated determination can be carried out according to actual needs.
